SUNO TO GUITAR: TABS, CHORDS, AND MIDI FROM YOUR AI SONG
Suno makes the song. It doesn't make it playable on guitar. Here's the fast path from Suno mp3 to a real, playable tab, with chord charts, synced lyrics, and MIDI export.
You generated a song in Suno. You love it. You want to play it on guitar. But there's a wall: Suno (developed by Suno, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, see Wikipedia) gives you an mp3 and (if you're on Premier) a MIDI file. It does not give you guitar tabs. It does not give you a chord chart. It does not export anything guitar-friendly.
That's why people search "suno to guitar pro" or "suno to guitar tabs" hoping for a magic button. Suno doesn't have one.
The short answer: download your Suno song as mp3, upload it to audio2guitar.com/suno, wait three minutes, and play. Tabs, chord diagrams, and synced lyrics live in the in-app tab player. Pro adds MIDI export, PDF/print, separated stem downloads, and per-stem MIDI for your DAW. The rest of this article explains why that works and how to get the best results.
WHY SUNO DOESN'T MAKE GUITAR TABS
Suno's product roadmap is focused on consumer music creation. Notation export, sheet music, and tab generation are not on the public roadmap. What Suno did ship, in September 2025, was MIDI export inside the Suno Studio editor. Premier tier only. 10 credits per stem. According to reviewers, it's "useful for inspiration but not a replacement for precise transcription."
That leaves three real options for getting your Suno song onto a guitar:
- Use Suno's MIDI export (Premier only, rough, requires DAW work to even read it as guitar)
- Manually transcribe by ear (slow, hard, and most Suno tracks don't justify the effort)
- Use a dedicated AI tab generator that outputs playable tabs and chord charts

Suno MIDI is a starting point for DAW producers. audio2guitar produces the actual playable artifact for guitar players: tabs you can read, chord diagrams you can finger, lyrics you can sing along to, plus MIDI and stems if you want to take it into a DAW.
WHERE SUNO'S MIDI EXPORT FALLS SHORT FOR GUITAR
The MIDI export is technically real, but here's why it's not the right tool for guitar players:
- MIDI is not a tab. It's a piano-roll of pitches. You have to manually map every note to a fret position. A C# can be played on the B string fret 2, the G string fret 6, the D string fret 11, or the A string fret 16. MIDI doesn't tell you which.
- Quality is "rough sketches." Reviewers consistently note that complex passages get simplified, chord voicings come out incomplete, and rhythmic timing drifts.
- No chord names, no lyrics, no sections. You get pitches and timing only.
- Premier tier required. Free and Pro Suno users don't have access at all.
STEP BY STEP: SUNO SONG TO PLAYABLE TAB IN 3 MINUTES
- Download your Suno song as mp3. In Suno, open the song. Click the download button. Save the mp3. Works on any Suno tier (free, Pro, Premier).
- Upload to audio2guitar. Go to audio2guitar.com/suno. Drag your Suno mp3 into the upload box, or click to browse.
- Wait about 3 minutes. The 6-stage pipeline uses music source separation to isolate the guitar from drums, bass, and vocals, then runs polyphonic pitch tracking, picks playable fingerings via beam search, detects chords across 170+ types, marks sections, and extracts lyrics. Open benchmark numbers and CSV dataset on the stats page.
- Play it in the browser. Audio plays. Tabs scroll. Chord diagrams update. Lyrics highlight. Edit any fingerings inline if needed. This is the playable artifact, no extra software required.
- Optional: export for offline use. On Pro, export MIDI for your DAW, print or save as PDF for a music stand, or download separated stems and per-stem MIDI to remix.

FIVE TIPS FOR ACCURATE SUNO TRANSCRIPTIONS
- Pick songs with clear, present guitar. If the guitar is buried under synths or pads, transcription suffers. Prompt Suno for a prominent guitar.
- Stick to standard time signatures. 4/4 and 3/4 transcribe more cleanly than 5/4 or 7/8.
- Download the original mp3 from Suno, don't re-encode it. Re-encoding through another tool drops quality.
- Let the song finish naturally. Suno's "extend" can introduce drift. Single-pass songs transcribe more cleanly.
- Review and edit inline. No AI transcription is perfect. Spend two minutes scanning for fingerings that don't match how you'd play it.
FAQ
Does Suno export guitar tabs or chord charts?
No. Suno exports MIDI on the Premier tier but not tab notation, chord charts, or sheet music. There is no export-to-tab button inside Suno as of April 2026.
Is there a free way to turn a Suno song into a guitar tab?
Yes. audio2guitar gives you 3 full song transcriptions free, with tabs, chord diagrams, and synced lyrics. After that you'd need a paid plan.
How accurate is AI transcription of Suno songs?
Accuracy depends on how clearly the guitar is present in the mix. Songs with prominent guitar transcribe more cleanly than songs where the guitar is buried.
Why is Suno's own MIDI export not enough for guitar players?
MIDI tells you which pitches play when, but not which fret on which string. A guitar player needs fingering choices, not raw pitches. audio2guitar's beam search picks fingerings that are physically playable; raw MIDI doesn't.
Can I do this with Udio songs too?
Not yet. Udio's October 2025 terms of service prohibit redistribution of output, even by the user who created it. audio2guitar doesn't accept Udio uploads while those terms are in place.
What can I export from audio2guitar?
On Pro you can export MIDI, print or save as PDF, and download separated stems (vocals, bass, drums, guitar, piano) as MP3 plus per-stem MIDI for any DAW. Free users view tabs, chords, and lyrics in the in-app player.
Do you produce Guitar Pro (.gp5) files?
No. We don't currently output .gp5 or other Guitar Pro formats. The playable artifact lives inside the in-app tab player, with MIDI and PDF export for offline use.
How long does it take?
About 3 minutes for a typical 3-4 minute Suno song. Faster than Suno's MIDI export, which requires manual stem-by-stem conversion.
How do I download my Suno song as an mp3?
From the Suno song page, click the share menu and choose Download → Audio. You'll get an mp3 file. Upload that file to audio2guitar. Free Suno tier accounts can download their own generations; subscription tier matters only for commercial use rights, not for downloading.
Can I sell or share the guitar tab from my Suno song?
Depends on which Suno tier you generated the song on. Suno's free tier restricts output to personal, non-commercial use. Suno Pro and Premier grant commercial rights to your generations (check current Suno ToS). The guitar tab is a derivative work of your Suno audio, so the same tier-based licensing applies. Audio2guitar doesn't add any additional license restrictions to your transcription output.
